Description
Since forever. Still here. Still proud.
Long before Pride was a marketing campaign, Capitol Hill was doing the actual work. This neighborhood sheltered Seattle’s LGBTQ+ community through the AIDS crisis, through the hate crimes, through the decades when being out in public was an act of courage rather than a lifestyle choice.
The bars weren’t just bars. CC’s wasn’t just a bar. Neighbours wasn’t just a club. They were infrastructure. Safety. Family for people whose families had turned their backs.
Capitol Hill’s queer community didn’t wait to be celebrated. They built something real — a neighborhood with its own culture, its own institutions, its own history — on a hill above a city that took a long time to catch up.
This design is for the people who were here before it was cool. And for everyone who found their people here when they needed them most.
Since forever. Still here. Still proud.
