About Us

So we made it ourselves. Which, honestly, was inevitable.

I’ve been making shirts my whole life. My first job was selling LPs and tees behind a merch table as a kid — my mom was a touring musician, and I grew up on the road with her. In high school and college I was an activist, and we screenprinted shirts as fundraisers because we had big plans and no budget. My best friend Morgan is a screen printing artist @cahnartistprints, and for years whenever I have an idea for a design — something funny, something beautiful, something that felt like an inside joke with the city — I’d mock it up and she’d print it. Friends, especially my friend and comrade from my Seattle Central days, Carlos, has been telling me for years I need to sell them.

Here they are.

The Town Threads is Seattle-designed apparel built around original artwork — designs rooted in the real character of this city, made by people who never left and can’t imagine why you would. Every piece is a love letter to a specific place, a specific feeling, a specific version of Seattle that locals recognize immediately and visitors want to take home.

We make gear for the people who live here, the people who grew up here, the people who just arrived and already know they’re never leaving — and for visitors who want a souvenir as beautiful as the city itself.

Thanks to you and all my Seattlite friends who agreed to be featured in photos! (Above- Morgan, Me, Carlos; Right- Ruth and Me)

About The Town Threads

Seattle has no shortage of souvenir shops. What it was missing was a shirt worth buying.

It started with a visiting friend who wanted to take a piece of the city home. We walked downtown, checked the usual spots, and came up empty — not because there wasn’t anything for sale, but because nothing we found actually looked like Seattle. Not the Seattle we know. Not the one with the neighborhoods and the waterways and the particular light off the Sound on a clear day.
